alert me when # of orders awaiting shipment reaches a certain number
Right now, while my employees are packing orders, I have to check in from time to time to see how many are left (so that I know when to start the next batch or when they're almost done). A helpful feature would be the ability to set an alert to email me when the number of orders in the awaiting queue goes below a certain number (user defined would make sense, I guess, since every company is different).
This would probably have to be something we set when the batch is imported so that the alerts don't get triggered during off hours or times when small batches are imported. So for example - say we import 300 orders, we could set an optional alert to email me when it goes below 50.
That could be done. I’m curious why you must wait before importing the rest of the batches. Everyone’s process is different but we usually the orders are cued by scanning the order number so it’s generally not a problem to have all of the days orders in the awaiting list and only those that packers have packing slips for will be scanned. I remember you print barcodes “on demand” so I think this may be why, am I right?

We do our USPS early in the morning, and the UPS later in the day. I like to wait as long as possible for more orders to come in. This way we get as many orders out same day as possible with as few batches as possible.
Also, this feature would be helpful in letting me know when the packers are almost done, so I can go down there and give them other assignments for when the order packing is over. Otherwise, if I get caught up with something else, they may be waiting around to be given instructions as to what to do next. This way, I have a heads up that they're almost done and I can go tell them. Cuts down on slack time.
